Comparison of Biochemical effects of glibenclamide and some trace elements on experimental diabetic rats
The present work was done to elucidate the possible protective and antidiabetic effect of chromium chloride (Cr) (500 mg/k.g.), sodium selenite (Se) (1.5 mg/k.g.) and Zinc sulphate (Zn) (54 mg/k.g.) supplementation in streptozotocin induced diabetic rats. Oral administration of both Cr+3 and Zn+2 as well as intraperitoneal injection of Se-2 at concentrations of 500, 1.5 and 54 mg/kg b.w. daily, respectively for 60 days showed a significant decrease in fasting blood. The treatment also resulted in a significant increase in plasma C-peptide and trace elements Cr+3 and Zn+2 and Se-2. The trace elements exerted rapid protective effects against lipid peroxidation by scavenging of free radicals by reducing the risk of diabetic complications.

Rutin Ameliorates Acrylamide-Induced Hepatotoxicity and Biochemical Disturbance in Male Albino Rats
The present study investigated the effect of rutin on acrylamide (ACR) toxicity was evaluated in experimental animal rats. The rats were feeding on basal diet and received oral 20 mg/kg b.w of acrylamide with 100, 50 and 25 mg/kg w.t of rutin; others were received the acrylamide concentrations only. The present results showed that 8-hydroxydeoxy guanidine (8-OHdG), protein carbonyl (PC), reactive oxygen species (ROS), glutathione peroxidase (GPx), tumor necrosis factor- (TNF-α), nitric oxide (NO) myeloperoxidase (MPO), caspase-3, bax, P53 and cytochrome-C in liver tissues were increased in rats-treated with acrylamide. This effect of acrylamide was attenuated by rutin. In conclusion, rutin ameliorates hepatotoxicity induced by acrylamide in male albino rats. It can be recommend the use of rutin to mitigate the acrylamide concentration in food products.

Biochemical Effects of Some Trace Elements in Experimental Diabetic Rats
The present work was done to elucidate the possible protective and antioxidant effect of chromium (Cr) as chromium chloride (CrCl2; 500 mg/k.g.), selenium (Se) as sodium selenite (Na2SeO3; 1.5 mg/k.g.) and zinc (Zn) as zinc sulphate (ZnSO4; 54 mg/k.g.) supplementation in streptozotocin induced diabetic rats. Administration of these elements daily for 60 days showed a significant decrease in MDA concentrations. The treatment resulted also in a significant increase in plasma insulin C-peptide, blood reduced glutathione (GSH) levels and superoxide dismutase (SOD)activity as well as gene expression of heart glucose transporter 4 (GLUT4) of diabetic rats. Also, the results clearly suggested that the trace elements can normalize effectively the body weight as well as high density lipoprotein (HDL-C) in streptozotocin diabetic rats. The trace elements reduced the risk of diabetic complications through rapid protective effects against lipid peroxidation by scavenging of free radicals there. These effects were more pronounced in Cr- treated group than Se and Zn-treated groups.

Development of an Optimal/Robust Control Strategy for Electrical Energy Cost Minimization in an Air-Conditioning Plant
This paper focuses on modelling the thermal behaviour of buildings and designing an optimal control algorithm for their HVAC systems. The problem of developing a good model to capture the heat storage and heat transmission properties of building thermal elements such as rooms and walls is addressed by using the lumped capacitance method. The equations governing the system dynamics are derived using the thermal circuit approach, and by defining equivalent thermal masses, thermal resistors and thermal capacitors. In the control design part, we have introduced a control algorithm which is composed in Pontryagin’s Minimum Principle controller. The optimal tracking problem is solved in Pontryagin’s Minimum Principle controller where the interconnection of all walls are taken into consideration. The Pontryagin’s Minimum Principle controller 0minimizes a quadratic cost function which has two quadratic terms. One takes into account the comfort level and the other represents the control effort, i.e. the energy consumed to operate the HVAC system. Simulation results for a single room example show energy savings using this control algorithm over a conventional PI controller.

Review on Enhancing Technologies of Heat Transfer through Phase Change Materials
This review concentrates deeply on the studies performed in the ongoing decade. Most recent researches on PCM focus on how to add enhancing techniques to exaggerate its performance. Most of these enhancing techniques fall in the following areas of interest (i) Study new PCMs with promising thermo-physical properties. The studies recommended some promising substances to be used as a PCM, these substances include pure inorganic salts (low cost chlorides, nitrates and carbonates), salt eutectics (KNO3–LiNO3 and KNO3–NaNO3–LiNO3), liquid metals (Gallium) and metallic eutectic alloys, esters, and nanofluids (Al2O3/water, CuO/water and alumina-water), and polyols (sugar alcohol like polyethelene glycol, erythritol and xylitol). (ii) Introducing composite mixtures to exaggerate the benefits of used materials. Composites could be by mixing PCMs like fatty acid esters with building materials like concrete pavements, cement or gypsum or with isolating materials like perlite to keep satisfying room temperature for long time. PCMs could be mixed or be used in cascaded configuration layered and ordered according to their melting temperature. Good conducting materials like graphite and aluminum were introduced to be mixed with PCMs to enhance the thermal conductivity of PCM. Stable materials like Diatomite and silica were introduced to enhance the stability of the PCM to retain its properties for a lot of melting/freezing cycles. Also, nano particles of TiO2, ZnO, CuO, and Silver-Titania, are added to generally enhance the PCM thermo-physical properties. (iii) Configuration of PCM container to achieve higher heat transfer rates by changing the aspect ratio or by adding fins. The studies focused on adding internal fins, external fins, and increasing the aspect ratio of the PCM vertical container to induce natural convection. Experiments advise to focus on increasing the number and height of fins more than focusing of fins thickness. (iv) Encapsulation technology of PCM to provide the largest heat transfer surface and avoid leakage when in liquid state state as well as allowing larger surface area for heat transfer and protection in handling hazardous materials. . It was observed that the core-to-coating ratio plays an important role in deciding the thermal and structural stability of the encapsulated PCM. An increased core-to-coating ratio results in a weak encapsulation, whereas, the amount of PCM and hence the heat storage capacity decreases with a decreased core-to-coating ratio. Among all the microencapsulation methods, the most common methods described in the literature for the production of microencapsulated phase change materials (MEPCMs) are interfacial polymerization, suspension polymerization coacervation, emulsion polymerization, and spray drying.

Online Identification and Artificial Intelligence Control of a Servo Pneumatic System
The aim of this paper is to identify and control a pneumatic servo drive in real-time environment. Obtaining the system’s dynamic model accurately can be difficult once the pneumatic servo-system has been assembled since its highly nonlinear in nature, as a result, some difficulties in servo-pneumatic system modeling and control. In order to, overcome the complexity associated with the system nonlinearity, auto-regressive moving-average (ARMA) model is employed to identify the system’s dynamic model in real-time environment. The advantages of this approach include high accuracy in the estimated model, low cost, and time reduction in controller design. The results acquired from the online experimental measured data are used to predict a discrete transfer function of the pneumatic servo system. The fourth-order model with one-step prediction shows the best performance compared with different order estimated model with varying sizes of step. Due to the highly nonlinearity of the system under study, two sophisticated controllers, PID-type fuzzy logic controller and Fractional order PID controller were chosen and designedusingthree optimization algorithms, namely particle swarm optimization (PSO), genetic algorithm (GA), grey wolf optimization (GWO).
